As the members of the Center study neglected tropical diseases, people often contact us in regards to medical issues. However, CTEGD is a research facility and is not organized, equipped, nor authorized to treat or advise individuals about medical issues. Furthermore, unsolicited biological samples or specimens received by the Center will be destroyed per biosafety protocols.

For medical information, please visit the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) website. The CDC provides excellent information on a variety of tropical diseases and has the authority to disseminate medical information. The CDC provides links to a number of directories to assist you in finding a local Travelers’ Health clinic.
